County Administering 2nd Round of PFizer COVID-19 Vaccine at High Schools

Fort Lauderdale, Fla – The Florida Department of Health in Broward County (DOH-Broward), in partnership with Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) and Broward County, is providing the second round of free, voluntary Pfizer COVID-19 vaccinations to students, staff and their families ages 12 and up at all public high schools and participating charter high schools in the county. No insurance is required, and no appointment is necessary.

Beginning Tuesday, May 25, DOH-Broward will begin the second round of on-campus vaccinations. DOH- Broward will provide first doses to individuals not yet vaccinated, as well as second doses to those who already received their first dose, 21 days earlier.

Students less than 18 years of age can be vaccinated without a parent or guardian present. They need to bring a consent form signed by a parent or guardian with them to the event. DOH-Broward will provide parents and guardians the opportunity to review the EUA Fact Sheet for Recipients and Caregivers and ask questions in advance.

Additionally, parents and guardians can also accompany students to the event if they so choose.

The high school vaccination schedule can be found below as well as the COVID-19 Vaccine Screening and Consent Form. The Pfizer Emergency Use Authorization Fact Sheet for Recipients and Caregivers can be found here.

DOH-Broward has also begun planning with BCPS for vaccinations inside middle schools during summer session. Those details will be announced as soon as plans have been finalized.
