We celebrate Earth Day all month long with various global-friendly events. Join the City of Deerfield Beach for a series of Earth and Arbor Day events to celebrate the planet in all corners of the community.

Earth Month Events 2023

Beekeeping 101 Workshop

April 1 | 9am - 11am | 401 SW 4th St, DFB

The workshop will start with an inside presentation, and then participants will join the beekeeper outside at the DFBee Apiary for a hive inspection and “Look Through the Windows” program. No prior experience is necessary.

Beach Cleanup & Green Expo

April 22 | 9am - 12pm | 71 S Ocean Way, DFB

Volunteers will gather in Deerfield Beach at the chickee hut across from the Fire Station. Materials including gloves, buckets, and water will be provided. Parking passes for the duration of the event will be available to the first 30 volunteers. Volunteer hours will also be available to those that participate. This year’s event will also host some of the City’s eco-partners that help keep Deerfield Beach green!

Arbor Day Tree Giveaway

April 29 | 8am - 11am | 445 SW 2nd St, DFB

The City will celebrate Earth Month with the annual Tree Giveaway on Saturday, April 29th at Oveta McKeithen Park, 445 SW 2nd Street, Deerfield Beach. The giveaway will take place from 8 AM to 11 AM. 

The tree giveaway is for homeowners who have the ability to plant a tree on their property. Residents receive one tree per household and must show proof of residency. Time slots are available for pre-registration for those who would like to select their trees ahead of time. All those who don’t register can receive a tree on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

Time slots are as follows:

  • 8 AM to 9 AM: This time slot will be for homeowners who have pre-registered. Pre-registration will allow you to select your tree ahead of time. Pre-registration begins on April 5th.
  • 9 AM to 11 AM: This time slot will be open for non-registered homeowners on a first-come, first-severed basis.

The giveaway will feature fruit, flowering, evergreen and palm trees. There will be two lanes, the first for fruit trees and the second for all other trees. The trees available at this year’s giveaway include the following:

  • Fruit: Longan, Barbados Cherry, Mango, June Plum and Orange
  • Flowering: Bulnesia and Spanish Stopper
  • Palm:  Thatch Palm

Pre-registration begins on April 5th.
