In 1999 the City of Deerfield Beach established a Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). The CRA was tasked with utilizing tax increment financing (TIF) to creatively partner with the private sector to increase investment in the CRA district as well as upgrade the area's public infrastructure. Details: Burying of all overhead utilities; repaving roadway; installation of mast-arm traffic signals, paver sidewalks, bike lanes, new street furniture and lighting; increased landscaping; signage
Project Cost: $7,000,000
Status: Final design/engineering phase- construction to begin in 2006
