D4 News

Hello friends,

I would like to wish everyone a safe Independence Day.  July 4 is more than just a day off from work and a time for cookouts.  It is a day to remember the founding of this great nation we call home.  All of the liberties and freedoms we enjoy were declared 243 years ago when we separated from England... and we're still going strong!  To celebrate, join me at our beach this Thursday.  There will be free entertainment from noon until 9:00 p.m.  Then one of South Florida's largest fireworks shows begins at 9:05 p.m.  Due to limited parking on the barrier island, there will be free parking at the Cove Shopping Center, Sullivan Park and St. Ambrose Catholic Church.  Complimentary shuttle service will run from 11:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.  There will be NO shuttle service from 5:45 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. due to the closing of the Hillsboro Boulevard Intracoastal bridge.  Shuttle service will resume at 11:00 p.m. and run until midnight.

I would also like to remind everyone that I will be holding Saturday office hours this Saturday, July 6 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at City Hall.  If you are in town for the holiday weekend and would like to discuss anything, e-mail me for an appointment at tdrosky@deerfield-beach.com.
Have a great holiday weekend!!

Todd Drosky
Vice Mayor
