I would like to remind everyone that the Florida sales tax holiday on some hurricane supplies starts today May 31 and runs through June 6. Some of the items included are as follows:
Less than $10: reusable ice packs
Less than $20: candles, flashlights and lanterns
Less than $25: gas or diesel fuel containers
Less than $30: batteries, including rechargeable batteries
Less than $50: bungee cords, radios, straps and tarps
Less than $750: portable generators
Please take hurricane season seriously and begin your preparations now.
In addition, now is the time to trim your trees and bushes. The City will not pick up landscaping debris two days before a storm. Please do not wait until the last minute.
