I hope that everyone is enjoying their spring. I want you all to know that the Florida Legislature has already convened its two month session for 2019. I am closely monitoring several bills make their way through the process. Some would significantly reduce or eliminate the City's ability to regulate itself on issues ranging from medical marijuana, plastic straws, vegetable gardens and even our own Community Redevelopment Agency.
Where appropriate, I will be contacting our state legislators to express our concerns in order to be a strong advocate for our city. If there are any particular concerns you have with legislation pending in Tallahassee, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to reach out at email@example.com.
