D4 News
Hello friends,

I am happy to announce that recycling operations will resume on September 3.  The City Commission approved a new contract with Waste Management at a special meeting last night.  The contract was approved unanimously and provides significantly better terms to the City and its residents.  In addition, there will be a vigorous public outreach and education campaign meant to reduce contamination.  Information and tips for recycling will be disseminated shortly.

In addition, I would like to give you all an update with respect to the upcoming dog park in Quiet Waters Park.  Remember, this is a County project.  The City of Deerfield Beach is not responsible in any way.  The County informed me yesterday that the CO was issued for the dog park about a week ago.  The County is now finalizing the remaining items, which include sod, landscaping, fencing and paving.  These items are expected to be completed in October.  I will keep you posted for an exact opening date when it is announced.

I hope everyone had a good and safe first week back at school.

Have a great weekend!

Todd Drosky

Commissioner
