Beginning Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 12 PM, a barrier island curfew will be in effect for the City of Deerfield Beach and the Town of Hillsboro Beach. A Citywide curfew will be announced later this afternoon. The curfew will remain in effect until modified or cancelled.
Bridges leading onto the barrier island have been locked down and barrier island residents will only be allowed into their homes with proof of residency and photo identification.

This curfew is to ensure the safety of all residents, as well as the property and businesses of Deerfield Beach and Hillsboro Beach from looters and individuals taking advantage of Hurricane Irma.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office and the Hillsboro Beach Police department will have zero tolerance for looting and violation of the instituted curfew will result in arrest.
